Shevet (meaning "sit") is an organization devoted to the promotion of Jewish meditation in Israel and abroad. Shevet's primary goal is to bring Jews from all backgrounds together in an experience and environment they can share. As a common spiritual language, Jewish meditation, as presented here, has no motive other than that of cultivating the awareness of oneself and reality as holy. This expanding awareness becomes the bridge Jews create among and within themselves in order to cultivate a better world. Shevet's vision is that meditation is necessarily an applied practice, flowing out from formal sessions to more compassionate action.
